Platform engineers and SREs managing Kubernetes clusters and cloud infrastructure through GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux) need to detect configuration drift between the declared state in Git and the actual running state in production, understand the root cause, and determine whether drift represents an emergency fix applied out-of-band or an unintended mutation.
